Creating an Account

To start using the web app user registration is required. The signup page is https://app.streamster.io/register

Please note, that the username which you’ll use to log in to your account may be different from your e-mail. Make sure that you will not forget it.

If you need to create a business account for multiple users, please read the “Create a business account” article.

Managing Your Account

Documentation about managing your Streamster account with the web app can be found in the “Account” section.

Starting Your Stream with OBS

Streamster web app can be used for re-streaming only. This means that the streaming scene is required to be created in the external encoder and broadcasted to Streamster servers. Once we receive your stream, you can use our multistreaming and transcoding services in your browser. But first, you need to set up your external encoder.

Step 1. Log in to the Streamster web app at https://app.streamster.io/

Step 2. Choose the “Live Stream” section.

Step 3. Make sure that the “External Encoder” tab is active.

Step 4. Open your external encoder and set up your scene.

Important! Please make sure that your encoder settings corresponds Streamster requirements.

Step 5. In OBS click “File“ – “Settings” and choose the “Stream” tab.

Step 6. Copy the Streamster “Stream URL” field content to the “Server” field in OBS, and “Stream Key” field content to the “Stream Key” field.

Step 7. Press the “Start Streaming” button in OBS.

Step 8. Go back to your browser. If the connection is fine, in the Streamster web app you’ll see the current streaming bitrate from the OBS. Alternatively, the bitrate tab can be switched to the video preview (1).

Step 9. Add and set up streaming channels in the Streamster app and launch the live stream to chosen platforms. If you need more information about the channels set up, please read the “Setting up streaming channels” article.

Required Encoder Settings for OBS

Please make sure that you use required encoder setting for streaming from OBS to Streamster servers. Adherence to these recommendations ensures that your live stream will not have issues.

Please keep in mind that the maximum bitrate for your stream corresponds to your current pricing plan.

Setting Up Streaming Channels

Step 1. Go to the “Live Stream” page (1) and open the “Restreaming destinations” (2) section.

Step 2. Add a new channel by clicking the “Add channel” button. To add the 2nd, 3rd, and more channels click the “Add channel” button once again.

Step 3. Choose the platform from the list. Alternatively, select the “Custom RTMP” channel (it is the first on the list) to stream to the platform that is not on the list.

Step 4. Paste the Stream key of your live stream (1), and, if needed, RTMP Url. If you’re not sure where to get this data, please click the tutorial link (2) below. Once all needed data is set, click the “Add channel” button (3).

Step 5. If needed, you can edit the channel settings after it was created by clicking the “Settings” button.

Step 6. To start streaming to the platform, click the “Play” button.

Starting Your Stream with Mobile Device

Step 1. Create your account with Streamster.

Step 2. Log in to the Streamster web app at https://app.streamster.io/ on your PC or Mac.

Step 3. Set up your streaming channels in the web app.

Step 4. Install the Streamster mobile app for Android or iOS on your mobile device.

Step 5. Log in to the Streamster mobile app with the same credentials you used to log in to the web application.

Step 6. Click the “Stream to cloud” button no matter in the mobile app or in the web app.

Step 7. In the mobile app tap on the channel logo to start the stream. Tap on it once again to stop the stream.

Starting Your Stream with GoPro

Step 1. Create your account with Streamster.

Step 2. Set up your streaming channels in the web app.

Step 3. Open the https://app.streamster.io in the mobile browser on your smartphone.

Step 4. Tap the “OBS Studio” banner.

Step 5. Copy the Stream URL for now.

Step 6. Launch the GoPro Quik app.

Step 7. Tap the “GoPro” Menu item and connect your camera.

Step 8. Tap the “Live stream” button.

Step 9. Select the “Other/RTMP” option.

Step 10. Paste the RTMP URL value that you copied in step 5 to the appropriate field.

Step 11. Go back to the https://app.streamster.io tab and copy the Stream Key.

Step 12. Add the Stream Key to the RTMP URL after as shown on the screenshot and tap the “Continue” button.

Step 13. Click the “Go Live” button to start streaming to the Streamster server.

Step 14. Go back to https://app.streamster.io and start streaming to platforms by clicking on the platform icon. Alternatively, to control your multistream, you can use Streamster app for iOS or Android.

Starting Your Stream with Zoom

Stream from Zoom with paid Zoom account

Step 1. Log in to your Zoom account in the web browser.

Step 2. Enable the live streaming feature for your meeting or webinar. Go to your Zoom profile and click Settings. Click In Meeting (Advanced) and activate the Allow live streaming meetings option.

Step 3. Sign in to the Streamster web app.

Step 4. Click the “External Encoder” banner.

Step 5. Copy your RTMP URL and Stream Key.

Step 6. Host a meeting or a webinar in Zoom. In the meeting control panel, click More and select Live on Custom Live Streaming Service.

Step 7. Fill in the Stream URL and Stream Key you’ve copied from Streamster.

Step 8. Click the “Go Live” button.

Stream from Zoom with free Zoom account

Streaming Zoom webinar or meeting with free Zoom account is available with Streamster desktop app. More details can be found here.

Starting Your Stream with Wirecast

Step 1. Sign in to the Streamster web app.

Step 2. Click the “External Encoder” banner.

Step 3. Find your “Stream URL” and “Stream key” values and copy one of them.

Step 4. Open Wirecast, select the “Output” section in the main menu, and click on the “Output Settings…” option.

Step 5. Click the “OK” button.

Step 6. Copy your Stream URL from Streamster to the “Address” field in Wirecast (1). Copy your Stream Key to the “Stream” field (2). If needed, change your video preferences (3). Once all set, click the “OK” button (4).

Step 7. Once your stream scene is set up, start your broadcast to Streamster server.

Step 8. Set up your targets in Streamster.

Cloud-Based Multistreaming

Depending on your pricing plan, Streamster allows the user to multistream your live video to up to 10 platforms. You can choose the platform from our list, or choose any other website or custom server that supports RTMP streaming.

To start your multistream:

Step 1. Sign in to the web app.

Step 2. Go to the “Live stream” section (1) and expand the “Restreaming destinations” area (2).

Step 3. Click the “Add channel” button to set up the first platform.

Step 4. Choose the channel from the dashboard using filters if needed. Or select the “Custom” option if the required channel is not on the list.

Step 5. Paste the Stream key of your live stream (1), and, if needed, RTMP Url. If you’re not sure where to get this data, please click the tutorial link (2) below. Once all needed data is set, click the “Add channel” button (3).

Step 6. Click the “Add channel” button once again to set up the next channel

Step 8. Once all channels are set up and the stream to Streamster server is started, click the “Play” button(s).

Transcoding

The transcoding feature allows setting different video quality for different platforms: you are able to choose Resolution, FPS, and bitrate for the original stream, and set different parameters for the transcoded stream. The feature is available for Regular, Professional and Premium pricing plans.

To set up the transcoded channel, please click “+/-” icon for the needed channel.

On the pop-up, please choose Resolution, FPS, and/or bitrate for the transcoded stream. Then assign your streaming channels to the original or transcoded quality.

Operating Multiple Stream Sources

Streamster allows connecting multiple devices simultaneously. You can use the same Streamster account on multiple mobile devices using the Streamster mobile app, and multiple computers using external encoders or the Streamster desktop app. If Streamster is online on several devices, the web app may be used to switch your stream source between these devices.

Go to the “Live stream” section (1). Expand the “Status” block (2) and switch it to the “Devices” view (3). Here you can find the video sources of all connected devices:

– external encoder if you stream with OBS or different streaming software to the Streamster server;

– all PC webcams if you stream with the Streamster desktop app;

– front and back cameras if you stream with a smartphone.

Click on the needed source to choose it for your live stream.

Please note, that if switching between different devices, the live stream is interrupted for a moment and recovers within seconds. If switching between cameras on the same device, the stream is not interrupted.

Stream Health Indicators

1. Stream to the Streamster cloud.

Once the live stream from the external encoder, mobile app, or desktop app is started, choose the “Live stream” section (1) and expand the “Status” (2) block to see your bitrate graph. Please make sure that your bitrate is stable, and the indicator above the graph is green.

2. Stream from the Streamster cloud to platforms.

Once the stream to the platforms is started, choose the “Live stream” section and expand the “Restreaming destinations” block. If the channel has the green badge, “Connected” status (1), and shows a stable bitrate, the stream goes fine. If it has the red badge (2), something is wrong with the stream. If the channel has no badge (3) the stream to the channel is not started yet.

Create Stream Overlay for Streamster Desktop App

Step 1. Create free account with Streamster and log in to the web app at https://app.streamster.io/login

Step 2. Select the “Overlays” section in the main menu.

Step 3. Click the “Configure your first overlay” button to start creating an overlay for your video or live stream.

Step 4. Type the name for your overlay, select its category, and click the “Create” button. Please note, that the list of available overlay templates depends on your chosen category. The category can’t be changed once the overlay is created.

Step 5. Click the “+ Add element” button to choose the element type. You can find more information about available types of elements here

Step 6. If available, choose the template for this element and click the “Select” button.

Step 7. Customize your element. You can find more information about the Overlay Editor features here.

Step 8. Your overlay may consist of several elements. Thus, you can add more elements if needed.

Step 9. Once the overlay is customized, save it.

Step 10. Launch the Streamster desktop app and click the “Add layer” button.

Step 11. Select the “Overlays” option.

Step 12. Select your overlay from the list.

Create Stream Overlay for OBS Studio

Step 1. Create free account with Streamster and log in to the web app at https://app.streamster.io/login

Step 2. Enter the “Overlays” section in the main menu.

Step 3. Click the “Configure your first overlay” button to start creating an overlay for your video or live stream.

Step 5. Click the “+ Add element” button to choose the element type. You can find more information about available types of elements here.

Step 6. If available, choose the template for this element and click the “Select” button.

Step 7. Customize your element. You can find more information about the Overlay Editor features here.

Step 8. Your overlay may consist of several elements. Thus, you can add more elements if needed.

Step 9. Once the overlay is fully customized, save it and exit Editor.

Step 10. Find the link for your overlay and copy it.

Step 11. Open your OBS Studio or any other streaming app that supports adding web pages as the video source.

Step 12. Add a new video source (1) and select the “Browser” option (2).

Step 13. Copy your overlay URL (1). Set Width as “1920” (2) and Height as “1080” (3). Click the “OK” button (4).

Types of Overlays

With the Streamster Overlays tool, you can add various elements to your video or live stream as overlays. Your overlay may contain a single element or consist of multiple ones.

Every element is customizable, but its customization options differ depending on its type. The list of element types and the main features for each of them can be found below.

Social media badges

The element displays the social media logo and the streamer’s username. It is available for the following platforms: Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat, Telegram, Reddit, and LinkedIn.

Monetization platforms badges

The element displays the monetization logo and the streamer’s username. It is available for the following platforms: Patreon, Onlyfans, Fansly.

Wish list badges

The element displays the wish list service and the streamer’s username. It is available for the following services: Throne.

Tip menus

Customizable element to display viewers a tip menu. For some platforms, an interaction option is available: element reacts if the specific tip amount is received. Available in 2 variations: Classic tip menu (displays menu with different values) and Random tip menu (highlights random point).

Copyright protection badges

Allows to add DMCA badge to the video or live stream easily.

QR codes

Allows to create and display QR code for any URL.

Tip2Peep overlay (18+)

It promotes viewers’ ability to switch the streamer’s camera by sending a tip. Once the tip is received and the camera is switched, it displays a countdown until the camera is switched back.

Add motivation or informational stickers to your video.

Overlay Editor Features

Templates

Streamster Overlay Editor offers various templates to simplify the overlay creation process. Some templates are customized, and some are static. Among customized elements are Social media badges, Tip menus, and QR codes. Static templates include Copyright protection elements and stickers.

Text editor

When customizing socila media / monetization platforms / wish lists badges, tip menus, or QR code elements, you can easily edit overlay texts. For badges, you can type your account username. For tip menus, customize the list of tips. For QR codes, you can change the name of the element to describe your link.

Position change

Use drag and drop to move the element to any part of your video scene: lick and hold an element, move it to a new location by dragging the mouse, and then release it to drop it in place.

Element opacity

By making the element transparent, ensure the overlay enhances the stream without obstructing important visuals, creating a balanced and unobtrusive viewer experience. Please note that for some elements (e.g. QR codes and Tip menus) opacity is changed for the background but not for the key content.

Visual effects

Add visual effects to the element to keep viewers’ attention on it.

With regular effects, your overlay is always visible. The effect is activated once per selected interval to attract the viewer’s attention.

With inverted effects, your overlay is not visible for most of the time. It is shown for 3 seconds once per selected interval.

Outlines

You can use outlines to highlight any element visually. An outline can be dark (shadow) or light (glow), and you can also change its transparency.

Custom texts and custom images

Create a custom text or upload a custom image to add it as an overlay to the video. As well as for other elements, you can customize opacity, size, position and outlines.

Interactive elements

Some elements, e.g., Tip menu or Tip2Peep overlay, may react to the streaming platform events. This feature is only available on streaming platforms integrated with Streamster and requires user’s authentication.

Unable to Log In to the Account

Issue
Once you try to log in to your account, you see the error message “Wrong username/password or your account is not active“.

Solution
– Make sure that you’re using the correct username, which may be different from your email address. If you forget your username, you can search for your Streamster registration email in your mailbox to find the username there. Otherwise, you can start with the reset password procedure and find your username in the email you receive.
– Make sure that you’re using the correct password. You can reset it using this link.

Issue
The web page is not loaded, or you can see any other error message.

Solution
Please contact our support team.

Live Video is Jerky

If your live video is discontinuous or jerky, first check your bitrate indicator:

If it is yellow or red, please check our recommendations on unstable bitrate.
If it is always green, make sure that your encoder settings correspond to our requirements.

Bitrate is Lower than Expected or Unstable

If you have issues with the bitrare, your upload speed indicator becomes yellow or red. In this case, we recommend the following:

Decrease your bitrate.
Use the cable internet instead of Wi-Fi
Contact your internet provider
Contact Streamster support team.

External Encoder is Unable to Connect to the Streamster Server

If your external encoder is unable to connect to the Streamster server and your stream status is Offline, we recommend double-checking your connection flow described in this article. Please make sure that you copied RTMP URL and Stream Key correctly.

If everything looks correct, but the issue still persists, please contact our support team.
